INTRODUCTORY
Belgaum Central Excise Commissionerate was formed with effect from 01.09.1983 with its Hqrs., at Belgaum. With effect from 01.04.2000, the Commissionerates in Karnataka were re-organised. As on date the jurisdiction of this Commissionerate extends over 11 north districts of Karnataka State viz., Belgaum, Dharwad,Gadag, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Koppal,Raichur, Yadgir, Bidar, Gulbarga, and Bellary.
This Commissionerate comprises 08 Divisions with 38 Ranges under them. The Divisional Hqrs., are situated as below:-
